Privacy Policy — Zion Psalms

Zion Psalms ("we," "us," "the app," "Zion Psalms") is a ministry project that helps people discover music written for singing the Psalms. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the Zion Psalms website and sign-in features, and how we use it.

What we collect

If you don't sign in: We don't collect any personal information from you. The song browser (Psalms Explorer) reads publicly available song data and works entirely in your own browser.

If you sign in with Google: We use Google Sign-In only to confirm who you are. When you sign in, we receive your name, email address, and a unique Google account identifier from Google. We do not request or receive access to your Google Drive, Gmail, Google Sheets, or any other Google account data — sign-in is for identity only.

Favorites: If you're signed in, you can save songs as favorites. Your list of favorites is stored in our database (Firebase), tied to your account, so it's there the next time you sign in — including from a different device or browser. We may add more ways to personalize your experience over time (such as notes or ratings tied to your account); any such feature would work the same way — stored against your account, visible only to you, and never sold or shared.

What we don't do

• We don't sell your information to anyone.

• We don't share your information with advertisers.

• We don't use your data to build an advertising profile.

• We don't send marketing email.

Third-party links

Zion Psalms links out to other services — Spotify, ESV.org, Logos/RefTagger, and song-evaluation forms, among others. Clicking these links takes you to a different website with its own privacy practices, which this policy doesn't cover.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your account information and favorites for as long as your account is active. If you'd like your account and associated data deleted, contact us using the information below and we'll remove it.

Security

We rely on Google Firebase's security infrastructure to store and protect account data. No online service can guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

Children's privacy

Zion Psalms is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of Zion Psalms after a change means you accept the updated policy.
